About us: Who we are

The HBSC is an informal mix of people across the property, legal and finance sectors all of whom passionately believe that by working together we can improve the home buying and selling process for consumers.

The group meets on a bi-monthly basis since 2018 has been working on ways to improve the buying and selling process by understanding what problems can be solved from the moment buyers and sellers think about moving to the time they move in.

We have published a document on ‘how to change the home buying and selling process’ which explains:-

1. Why change in the home moving process is tricky to deliver
2. Why it is possible to deliver change now
3. What can be done in the short term by government, the industry and consumers to have a better moving experience
4. What can be done in the longer term by government, the industry and consumers to revolutionise the moving process for all
   
   

The key aim of the Council is to ensure that every sector of the home moving process from lending to removals works closer together to make life easier for buyers and sellers.

We also work closely with government and other groups to advise on how new laws, new products and services will impact on the home moving process.
